Picking the right financial advisor for your situation can be challenging. However, there are simple and straight forward questions you can ask to determine if an advisor is right for you. You need to know if your advisor does comprehensive planning, how they will improve your situation, what type of education they have, and how they are compensated. Look for advisors with well-respected education and training credentials like the CFP®, ChFC®, RICP®, or CFA®. You wouldn’t hire a doctor that didn’t go to Medical school, why hire an advisor that didn’t get financial education?
